Melintor is a Province in the Princiarchy of T'Hoth. It provides one of the main backdrops to a number of novels and stories concerning The Wizards Of Melintor.

This is a reference material site concerning the lands in which the stories are set. There isn't much description of the people, flora, or fauna. Few people are described in physical detail in the stories. Some people are shorter or taller, younger or older, have short or long hair of various hues. To the stories, much of people's appearance doesn't matter.
The world is definitely a fantasy one but by some criteria it may be a form of sci-fi/sci-fantasy. The people of this world are 'aliens'. The Earth does exist in the same unviverse (although how and when is for much later). As such, then, it is convenient to imagine that the people are very much like Terran Humans; the plants much like Terran plants; the beer very much like 6X, Bombadier or Fuller's ESB; the other animals and weather and sun and rain are all like the ones an earth reader would know. A person from Earth may well be dropped on this world, watch people and eat food without knowing they weren't on Earth. Other than the languages.
The stories are written with the foibles of all languages; they have their own local expressions and are scattered with fragments abstracted from other tongues.
You could, if you should ever read one of the stories, imagine bug-eyed creatures with many legs if it enriches your experience, but they are written (between the set pieces) about people and their feelings for each other.
